Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens inside your browser, on your own device. No file ever travels over the internet — that's why it's instant and private.

Which formats are supported?

Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos), GIF, BMP and SVG. Output: JPG, PNG and WebP.

Does compression hurt photo quality?

You control the trade-off with the quality slider. At 80–85 the size drop is large and the difference is barely noticeable.

Is there a size or quantity limit?

We impose none. Since everything runs on your device, the only limit is your browser's memory.

What happens to metadata (EXIF)?

GPS location, date and camera model are automatically stripped during processing.

Does it work on mobile?

Useful references: 1920 px covers a Full HD screen; 1080 px is the Instagram feed standard; 1200 px works well for blogs and email. Height is calculated automatically to keep the aspect ratio.

Resizing is also the most effective way to compress: a 4000 px photo reduced to 1920 px shrinks drastically before you even touch the quality slider.
